Dr Megan Hatfield

Megan Hatfield qualified as a dentist from Leeds University with Honours. She did a variety of posts in dentistry including hospital work in oral surgery and orthodontics, teaching dental students and general practice in Catterick and Wetherby. She undertook three years of specialist training at Leeds Dental Institute and St Luke's Hospital, Bradford, qualifying as a specialist orthodontist in 2005 with the gold medal for the top marks in the country.

Wetherby Orthodontics was established in October 2005, moving to the current premises in May 2006. It is Megan's goal to offer high quality private treatment to adults and children who want to improve their smile.

Megan is married to Jack Cooke, also a dentist, whose practice Ashby Dental shares the same building. They have two daughters, Hannah and Sophie. Megan says she is following the development of their teeth very carefully!

Megan is registered with the General Dental Council on the Dentists’ Register and the Specialist List for Orthodontics, registration number 69607.

Orthodontic Treatments

General dental work may be required before any orthodontic treatment to ensure you are dentally fit. For younger patients we often (but not always) advise waiting until the adult teeth are through before carrying out orthodontic treatment. We are more than happy carry out initial examinations when patients still have a mixture of adult and baby teeth, as sometimes this can help to plan for future orthodontic treatment.
