Invisalign Aligners

What are Aligners?

Aligners are a clear plastic brace which is worn like gum shield to gradually put pressure on the teeth to move them into the desired position.

Can Aligners be removed?

Aligners are almost unnoticeable and can be removed for eating. For the most effective results, the braces need to be worn for a minimum of 20 hours a day.

What are Aligners used for?

The change is gradual when wearing aligners and they are more suitable for certain types of problems like mildly crooked or spaced teeth. They can be used for both adults and teenagers.

Invisalign Aligners

Here at Wetherby Orthodontics we provide Invisalign, you may have also heard of similar systems like Clearstep. Invisalign is the longest-standing system of aligners and has been developed over many years in America. Following some planning using computerised technology each invisible aligner is worn for a set period (usually two weeks) before the next in the series is placed. You will visit the orthodontist for progress checks every 6-10 weeks.
